My name is Maddie Bruns and I am a Provisionally Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. It is my belief that we are all on our own journey and the bravest thing anyone can do is ask for help. My goal is to walk with you on your journey and provide support along the way. You lead, I follow.
I specialize in working with youth and their families. Primarily focusing on middle school through college using a variety of evidence-based modalities and a strengths-based approach. It is my intention to help individuals achieve their personal goals, express themselves, and pursue meaningful growth.
My approach is straight-forward, honest, humorous, and compassionate. I emphasize building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients and their families to foster a safe, inclusive, and comfortable environment. I will never ask a client to discuss something before they are ready or complete a task I myself would not do.
My experience includes working with youth and their families navigate challenges including but not limited to anger management, anxiety, behavioral challenges, life transitions, parenting, interpersonal communication, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, generational trauma, internet safety, and developmentally appropriate behaviors. It is an honor to be able to hold the feelings of another for a short while and I am deeply grateful for those who come and share a space with me.
